    You know what the rarest Fiero is? The one that doesn't ride like a Western Flyer little red wagon. FFS, General Motors. Such a sharp little car with a crappy interior and a suspension that is as well designed as a conestoga wagon. I went to buy an 87 fastback and after the test drive decided that I could do without one for the rest of my life.

      Some confirmation of why he was pulled over (driving into traffic), comments about how unusually strong he was, suggestions of [ingested substances], and multiple attempts to take their [pews]. 19:54 not sure if that means they found some enhanced [substances] on him. Note that nobody in the media has bothered to listen to the tape, they all had the story pre-written. This is cops discussing what they had all just witnessed, not something they might come up with later. If these details are not discussed at the trial (like they weren't for GF), then something is bent. If anyone can speak AAVE they might do a better job of deciphering what they are saying, I don't cope well with people talking at the same time, maybe listening to the individual cameras will be useful.

      @@chelsaerobbins8919 you should watch some cop videos, this kind of deceptive behaviour is common, like yelling “I’m not resisting”, while clearly resisting. They know they are being recorded or someone is within earshot, and this plays out well in generating naive public sympathy later. He could have stopped resisting at any point. And clearly it does work because the media is wilfully pretending he was handcuffed and beaten for hours… the reality is two kicks to the face. Still bad enough for jail, but 99% of the population has no idea of the truth because IMO they don’t want to know, they just want to be popular.

      @@christiansass the traffic stop was half a mile away, and best source for the second encounter was 80 yards away. Generally people only flee from cops if they have something they are hiding. Given that initially he claimed to not know why they were stopping him, I’m going with he did know and he figured it would be worth it to run. But to point out the obvious, they had his car so they already knew where he lived… Maybe he was hoping to sleep off whatever he’d ingested. Yeh, I would have expected this to be mentioned on the equipment website, but yes it's an odd blind spot? If they included GPS then they would have access to that global time source too. Yeah. Is hard to see, but grabbing a cop to defend yourself is very easy for an officer to claim. But I would need to see the video proof of it happening to believe it, today. It could have possibly happened, definitely. But if he was violent to warrant some kind of offensive action like what was shown, it is all understandable on how things can escalate. It sounded like the drugs kept him going, but you could hear him while they were beating him and he was already delirious in his speech. It could have been from the drugs, but taking a beating to the head with heymakers could do that, also. My opinion, no one should be saying not to do this or do that or your going to get a beating. That shouldn't even be said. No officer should have the right to beat anyone.

    That looked like resisting arrest. Everyone knows what cops mean when they tell you to get out of the car and lie face down with your hands behind your back. That's not sit there until they drag you out, sit on the ground or lie on your side or argue the finer details as to the fairness of it all. I'm sure everyone wants to jump up and down, but I've seen this a thousand times now and it always ends badly. If you switched to just sending people a summons in the post instead of surprise confrontations by the roadside, then the outcome may have been different

    • @SirTboneable

      @@SirTboneable Nope, but they can use proportionate force to arrest someone. If that person wants to spin it out into a ten minute floor tussle then they aren't just coming out of it with road rash. Note the audio: 14:30 "he on something", so we'll see how that pans out later. You sound like you've already decided what outcome you'd prefer.

    • @christiansass
      @christiansass Рік тому

      The cops definitely came off in a way that put him on the defensive from the start. He didn’t sound like he was on anything to me. If anything he was just surprised that they were acting so aggressively. I wish I had more context than I was given, because I know they were talking about how he was driving before they stopped him, regardless it was excessive. As I was editing I was writing done timestamps for each action as it happened. And it’s brutal! I can add my notes if you want. But the main reason I even took them was to figure out how long it took for him to get medical attention. After they got done feeding him he sat there for more than 20 minutes

    • @____________________________.x
      @____________________________.x Рік тому

      @@christiansass I believe cop's are trained to escalate a situation to secure compliance? Some people seem to think arguing puts them in a better light. 21:00 they start talking about why they stopped him and his dangerous driving, and before that they mentioned him going for one of the cop's pews during the struggle. Agreed he didn't look sound he was on anything, but something kept him resisting? These stops always look excessive to me, but cops have to deal with the same behaviour day in day out, I'm pretty sure they don't care any more about non cops. Since this is now a political trial they will all go to jail for something, and all the cops who are actually effective rather than wild, will leave for jobs where they don't get jailed for trying to manage these situations. None of us want to do this job or put ourselves into these situations, so we don't have a tall hill to stand on really. Medical aid probably depends on the area, I'm sure everyone wants their son to get top tier care, but if it's the EMT's 4th un-alived body of the day then why should they care? Really useful video though, glad you put it out there.

I was at a sales conference for Chevrolet and Robert Cook a VP, stated that they were not in the auto business but the business of making money and would manufacture refrigerators if it was more profitable. I look back at the demise of Pontiac and of Oldsmobile and see two Pontiacs that seem to enbody possibility and one, the Aztec that should never have been built. They should have put the 3.8 turbo in it like the grand national. Then it would actually be a sports car. Coming from the muscle car error we couldn't help but laugh at a little go cart with an under powered small v-6. But then most cars in the 70s and 80s we're pretty much neutered by then. But the absolute worst of all were the 74'-90' corvettes those were an embarrassment to all vettes that had come before.
